With a laugh, Nikita watched as her dark bay mare galloped around the pasture, kicking her heels up. The mare hadn't been able to go for a good run in for ages, having been cooped up inside for a few days. Nikita knew she should have let the mare out sooner, but had been struggling to make time. She had been emailing her parents back and forth so much, she was practically glued to her computer. Abikanile's whinny shook Nik out of her day dream, as the dark bay cantered towards her. The mare did a beautiful western slidding stop before rearing up and tossing her head. With a laugh, Nikita shook her head at her mare.
" Oh, so now you can be a western pony?" Nikita chuckled at her mare, climbing over the fence before walking over. The 5'6 girl patted the 17'2 thoroughbred mare's neck gently before holding out a crunchie. The mare seem to eat Nikita's whole hand just from the treat, crunching on it nosily.
Nikita laughed before exclaiming," Most people would think I haven't fed you in months..." The comment earned Nikita a small squeal of unhappiness and a tail whip as the dark bay trotted off. Nikita chuckled gently before looking around carefully. She then pulled out a small book and flipped it open. With a small laugh, Nikita started to write down something on the page. She began humming as she wrote, smiling as she did.

Alexis had finished settling Lightning into his stall and unloading all of his equipment. She had thanked the man that delivered him and told her horse bye momentarily. Alexis wished to look around the grounds some. Her first idea was to go check out the pastures where she was thinking about later taking Lightning out to.
Alexis started off in that direction and passed by rows and rows of fenced in pastures some with horses others pretty empty. Though she decided she liked the area though. They were definitely nice pastures with strong fences, no weeds or deadly plants, shade and shelter, water... Alexis hadn't entirely expected anything less.
She was coming on to another pasture one that she saw a dark horse in. She kept walking admiring the view and almost didn't notice the girl that was standing there as well, writing something down and humming.

Nikita jerked her head up, hearing Abikanile's nicker. The 5'6 girl spotted a girl and smiled, looking at the girl. "Hey... Sorry about Abi, she loves making new people... And horses,"Nik smiled as her mare pushed against the fence and nickered to the girl. Nik looked at her mare and smiled as the dark bay stepped back, before tossing her head and nickering again.
" I'm Nikita, by the way..." She smiled gently at the other girl.

Alexis gave a little jump of surprise and then calmed down when she realized the girl was talking to her. She smiled softly. "No problem. My name Alexis.. Lexi." Alexis looked over at the mare in the pasture. "She's really a beautiful horse." Alexis commented back. She looked at the girl from the corner of her eye looking her over. The girl was shorter than her, but she couldn't tell if younger or older.
Alexis casually walked up to the fence and leaned on it, pretending she was still looking on at the mare, but kept giving secretive glances to the girl. She didn't know why. She guessed she didn't know anyone around here yet, so she didn't know what anyone was like and who would be friends or enemies. This girl seemed fairly nice so she wasn't too worried.

Nikita smiled, watching her dark bay mare, who was pressing her head on Alexis's shoulder gently, eager to be pet. Nikita looked down at her book before closing it and placing it in her back pocket.
" So, Alexis, How long have you been here for?" She focused on the girl. Her light green eyes focused on Alexis, eager to learn about the girl.

Alexis gave a slight shrug. "Maybe a couple of hours. I recently got her. Decorated my room, which by the way, I don't know my roommate yet. Uhm.. then settled my horse in. Ended up here." She nodded her head and pressed her lips in a tight line. Then she laughed and looked over at the girl.
"Alright so what about you then? How long you been here for? You seem pretty settled."

Nik smiled, "Cool..."
She smiled, "A couple weeks now... I can with my younger/twin sister.... Though you would never think we are sisters..." Nikita smiled and patted her mare, who now stood beside her.

Alexis glanced over at her. Hmm...she was a twin. "Why's that? Aren't most twins usually alike in some way?" That was pretty interesting, she had a twin. Alexis imagined what it would be like having a twin. She figured her brother would freak with there being two of her.
"Yea... I bet my brother would freak if there was another one of me..." She voiced her thoughts out loud. Then she sighed. " "Left him behind back home. Kinda sucks not having him around with me all the time for once. No one to right with anymore, at least not in person. Or someone to look out for me... not that I needed him to anyways." Alexis shook her head and then smiled. "Sorry I'm rambling. My bad..."

" I look like my mom but act like my dad, and Audrey, my sister, looks like our dad but acts like my mom." She shrugged before practically vaulting onto Abi's back. The mare pinned her ears but did nothing.
"You have a brother! Lucky! I always wanted one!" She smiled. She loved her sister but always wanted a brother.
" So, you mentioned you have a horse? What is his name?"

Lexi laughed. "Ya want mine? We argue a lot, and he's very protective over me. But I guess we're pretty close though." She shrugged. "But I have a sister too, oldest. I'm the youngest. She's in college, got her own life now I guess. I'm not particularly close to her, enough though. She would stand up for me when I'd fight with my brother, but..." Alexis just shrugged again.
Alexis thought about her beautiful boy. "I have a chestnut Thoroughbred. His name is Lightning." Alexis smiled brightly thinking about him. "He's a nice firey red. Has a long stripe down his nose. Oh yea, he's an eventer too." She added in.

"You're so lucky... How I wish I had a brother. I always got along better with guys then I do with girls..." Nik shrugged, smiling as she patted her mare.
"If you want to, you can put him in here with Abi, She loves company.." Nik smiled as Abi pricked her ears at the mention of Lightning.

Alexis shrugged. "I get on better with guys too but a brother is different." She laughed then. "I could go get Lightning now... I'll be right back." She waved and turned the other way, jogging back down to the main barn.
Once inside, Alexis went and grabbed her horses lead shank and then scurried back over to his stall. "Hey buddy." She said when the chestnut stuck his head over the door. "Wanna go out and meet a new buddy?" She asked. The gelding nickered eagerly and nosed at his owner. "No treats boy."
She opened the stall door and quickly clipped the lead onto her horse before he came barging out and into the aisle. "Hey now! Knock that off fancy pants." She scowled at him but smiled all the same, he was too cute after all. Lexi led the horse out of the barn and headed back the way to the pasture. Lightning was strutting the entire way trying to show off. As soon as the other human and horse were in sight, Lightning picked up his head and called out loudly to the mare, and began prancing quickly to get to the gate. "I swear you think you're still a stallion. Honestly. Show off." Alexis mumbled under her breath and then he stopped obediently beside her. She rolled her eyes, but gave him a loving pat.

Nikita nodded as Alexis went to go get her gelding before looking at Abi. " How about a run, Abikanile?" Immediately Abi reared up and pawed at the air before taking off. With a laugh, Nikita leaned forward. She loved riding her mare like this, just galloping around. The dark bay mare snorted and plunged forward.
As she saw Lexi return with a chestnut gelding, Nikita sat back and smiled as Abi slid to a stop. The 16 year old picked up her hand, waving it slightly, motioning for Lexi to come right in. The 5'6 girl slid off her 17hh mare, who snorted, nudging Nik for treats before tossing her head and looking over at Lexi and the horse, she had guessed was, Lightning. Abi snorted and trotted away, beginning to graze. Nikita smiled brightly at Lexi.
