Arriving

[Roselyn May Woods]

The blue dodge ram pulled up into the road of the barn with a horse trailer. Inside Roselyn's mind was racing she was excited. She was finally going to one of the top five equine schools in Canda. She had much to do such as, to unload her horse, Locate the dorms and, unpack. She parked and shut her car door. She opened up the back of the trailer and lead Comet out. Comet snorted and stretched her neck. Roselyn patted Comet's neck and Lead her to the stable. She looked for Comets stall and saw it, with her show name and barn name on it. She led the horse in, the bedding was already there for Comet. She filled up Comet's food and water.

She had a feeling she would like it here. Comet was already settled, she was eating out of her bucket looking at Roselyn. Comet raised her head and neither and Roselyn turned to look at the barn entrance. Maybe someone was coming.

Alexis left her dorm room and headed off towards the main barn. Lightning should be arriving any minute now and she need to be there to see him. She was right after all, as soon as she got there a big horse van was pulling in, one happening to be rented out from the famous stud her father worked for. Alexis didn't wait for the driver of the van to get out, she immediately ran to it and opened the back once it had stopped. A large chestnut rump met her one the inside and she ran into to unload her baby. Once he was down and out Alexis let him look around and stretch.

The thoroughbred picked up his head and looked around the new place. Then he lowered again and shook, as if releasing all the jitters in his body. He snorted and Alexis began to lead him in small circles around to stretch his legs.

She told the driver she would return for his equipment as soon he was settled in his stall. Alexis started walking and the chestnut obediently followed behind towards the dark barn. As she walked in with her horse she caught the eye of someone looking out at her.

Roselyn blinked. "Oh hi." she said patting Comet on the head. She looked at the girl's horse. "I guess a lot of people like chestnut horses." she said some-what awkwardly. "So are you new here?" Comet bickered to the other horse and Roselyn smiled. Comet nudged Roselyn asking for a treat. Roselyn reached into her pocket and took out a treat. She held it out to Comet who took it for her. Comet chewed happily on the treat. Roselyn realized she should offer the girl a treat for her horse. "Would you like a treat for your horse?" she asked.
