Alexis picked up all of her bags and looked up at the looming academy before her. Could she really believe that she was here? Maybe it had been a mistake, leaving the US for this academy in Canada. Being so far from home where she grew up. Her parents. Her sister who was in college anyways, and her brother who would soon be going too. She couldn't believe it but she would miss him the most, no matter how much she fought with him, they were extremely close. It was a whole other world not having him around to be the big brother to her whether she had liked it or not. She was on her own now. She would have to talk to him at least every night, at least until she got used to it. If she did.
Alexis carried her things off to the boarding house and found her way to the floor with the girls room, the second floor. She walked down the hall counting the numbers on the door, 01, 02, 03, all the way until she hit A08. Her room. She unlocked the door and walked inside to the barren room. She guessed her roommate wasn't here yet. Guess that meant she could choose her bed! Alexis chose the farther one and threw her stuff onto her. "Alright, first opt is to decorate. This is too drab in here."
Alexis was definitely putting clothes last. She hated them, they were just there, so they could wait. It wasn't important to her. What was, was making her room fit her. First was putting up picture frames to remind her of home. One of her favorites of her on Lightning and her brother Corey on his horse Cat. Another of her parents horses and her sisters horse, Diamond, Rouge, and Blacklite. There were a few others as well. Then she decorated the walls on her half of the room with posters and some of her favorite drawings. She lined up books on shelves, her laptop on the desk, and other stationary items as well. She made her bed as comfy for her, including a few stuffies, especially her favorite of a chestnut horse that was a miniature Lightning. A lamp and a few other lights on the walls and a mirror. Once the creative part was done did she put away technical things in the bathroom and clothes in the closet and dresser drawers as well.
"I guess that's decorated enough." She told herself, staring at the barren half across from her. Then she wondered who her roommate was. She hoped it was at least someone she could live with. If not it was going to be an extremely long year.
There was only one thing left to do. That was to go see her horse!
